When you have found a book you wish to buy on dk.com, simply click 'buy now'. This will take you to your shopping basket where you can view the title you have selected. You can add further titles buy clicking 'continue shopping' or by browsing for more books using our top navigation.
Your shopping basket also gives you key information about safe shopping, delivery times and charges and payment methods. If you have a promotion code you will also be asked to enter this at the basket in the coupon code box.
To set up an account you will need to provide a user name and password plus billing address details.
Once you have placed an order you can check your purchase history in the Your Account section of the store.
Lost password
If you have forgotten your password go to Your Account and click 'please tell me my password reminder'. Your password hint will then be displayed, if you have not provided a password hint we will email your password to you.
You will have the opportunity to check your billing and delivery address before you pay. Here you can view the total cost of your items - including delivery charges, before you proceed to pay. You can also read about delivery charges, terms and conditions, and safe shopping before you pay.
At the next stage, you are able to place your order - paying by Switch, Visa, MasterCard, Delta, Solo, or Amex. All orders must be in UK pounds sterling.

To guarantee that our customers get the best possible service we use an outside fulfillment house to fulfill our products and therefore need to levy a standard postage charge per order. Dorling Kindersley does not make any margin on this charge.
You will find that it is usually more economical to buy online if you purchase more than one item, plus we offer free delivery for orders of £15.00 or over in the UK.

You can also telephone us regarding your order on 0870 607 7600. Lines are open 8.30 am - 5.30 pm. Monday to Friday. Calls are charged at national rate. In order to ensure the quality of our service we occasionally monitor calls.
It is not possible to manually override the order system once this process has begun, however we can refund the cost of any item within 14 working days of the delivery date if you have changed your mind and wish to return your purchase/s unused and in good condition.
To return items please complete and attach the sticker on the bottom right-hand side of your delivery note, to the parcel you are returning stating reason for return on the label. As soon as we receive your parcel we will refund your book cost.
If the reason for the return is the result of our error, or if the item was damaged before it reached you, we will also refund the postage costs.
If you are unable to locate the sticker, please send the package to the following address stating customer order number and reason for return.
