week 20

There's no mistaking your pregnancy now - and congratulations, because you're half way there! Over the next few weeks your bump will continue to grow and your baby will become more active. As your baby grows, so will your unique bond with her.

Your body changes

You're getting bigger and you may be feeling a little breathless sometimes, but this is still the 'blooming' phase. You are looking forward to the birth, but are not still too weighed down by the extra person you've got on board.

Other changes

  • Your bump is getting steadily bigger now
  • The baby is increasingly active
  • You'll probably be invited for a mid-term scan around this time

Facts about you:

  • The top of your uterus, or fundus, reaches to about your navel, and will continue to grow about 1cm a week.
  • The pressure of the growing baby might make your belly button pop out and stay that way until after the birth.
  • The weight of the baby might make you feel a bit off balance.
  • You may develop stretch marks.
