New Tastes and Textures
Once your baby has adjusted to simple purees, you can begin to introduce a broader range of flavours and textures. Keep textures smooth until your baby can cope well with chewing and swallowing. Then, gradually introduce purees with thicker or lumpier textures, beginning with familiar flavours.
Try adding just a little grated or mashed food to a smooth puree, or make your baby's favourite puree in a lumpier form. You can also combine more ingredients to make interesting flavours. Don't be afraid to mix sweet with savoury: fruit with pureed chicken or fish, for example, is a favourite with many babies.
